City rejects reinstatement of racist cop David Edgmon-appeal filed

Publishers Note: Corruption Sucks Blog applauds Little Rock City Manager, Bruce Moore & Chief of Little Rock Police, Stuart Thomas, for filing this appeal of the reinstatement of racist Little Rock officer David M. Edgmon to the force. This is only possibly the second time in thirty years such an appeal has occurred.   This rejection of overt racism within city government goes a long way towards TRUE justice.  But it is not enough.   We continue to call for the IMMEDIATE resignation of the racially ignorant & buffoonish ilk that started this problem in the first place by coddling & running racist screen for a jr. member of their Good 'Ol Boy club.  We continue to call for a full-scale boycott of their businesses until they do resign.   If they continue to serve, they can surely expect for us to show up at ALL of their bigot-ladened meetings & much more, that's a promise.  Corruption Sucks Blog has declared formal war on racism &a

In a letter last week, Little Rock Black Police Officers Association president Terrell Vaughn called for the resignation of the three commissioners who voted to reinstate Edgmon. “It’s an injustice to the fellow officers of this department, employees of the city, and the citizens of the Great City of Little Rock for Officer Edgmon to have been reinstated,” wrote Vaughn, who said his letter was approved by the association’s board. “The commission in this single reinstatement has set a precedent for future such incidents by allowing the defense of ‘I was intoxicated’ and ‘I was ignorant of my own immoral actions’ be sufficient explanations for such behavior.” A group of Little Rock police officers are asking questions about how a fellow officer got his job back after making racial slurs.
