Subject: Hmm, I think you should do a 'corruption sucks' piece on Baptist Hospital's president Russ Harrington getting a $400,000 raise the other day, which brings his annual salary up to $900,000 a f*cking year, but at the same time, they cut off all employee raises for the past year. They just reinstated them, but virtually no one will be eligible for a raise until next year.  How convenient that they freeze all raises & as soon as they reinstate them, he gets a near half a million dollar raise? WTF? But they don't have the money/budget to hire new employees so they're short staffed and that of course interferes with patient care. They should have used the money for his fat raise to buy a new CRRT machine, because we only have like 4-5 and 2 are broken, and all the others are being used by other patients. State legislators blasted the Pulaski County Special School District board and administrators Friday morning, after the Division of Legislative Audit releases the results of a year-long investigation. "It's time Pulaski County Special School District got taken over if this is the kind of foolishness going on down there," State Sen. Kim Hendren said in the DLA meeting Friday morning. Last year, KARK 4 reported first about how the district overpaid outgoing superintendent James Sharpe by about $80,000.  Shortly after, the board unanimously voted to launch the audit.  Sharpe returned the money but then acting superintendent Rob McGill requested district personnel double check his compensation and auditors discovered Sharpe was overpaid $17,203 during his tenure. The district is now pursuing legal action to recoup the funds. Auditors also discovered Sharpe was paid $7,836 worth of unallowable expenses, which is due back to the district.  T

            What Ever Happened With This?   I find it amazing, and yet not surprising, that every time we go into a bad economy essential services  (police & fire) are the first ones to take the hit. It never seems to affect any government bureaucracy  or pet social program - from the execs to the secretaries and support personnel. BP accused of 'lack of integrity' by US House speaker   BP is working to contain the spill having failed to plug the leak US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has accused BP of a "lack of integrity" when making its case for deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. US President Barack Obama has met relatives of the 11 workers killed in the explosion on the BP oil platform in the Gulf. Posted: 5:04 AM Jun 15, 2010 Van Der Sloot's Attorney Resigns  Peruvian attorney has resigned from defending the murder suspect Joran Van Der Sloot.   Maximo Altez Navarro says he didn't want to be Van Der Sloot's attorney anymore due to the problems the case has created for him. Prison authorities say Van Der Sloot was transferred to Peru's Castro Castro Prison yesterday awaiting a psychological evaluation. New transcripts from Peruvian authorities reveal Van Der Sloot elbowed victim Stephany Flores in the face before strangling then suffocating her with his own shirt.
