The chief announced his resignation, and the other three officers on the force followed his lead. “Our marshall and three deputies quit, so that's about all they said,” resident Ann Pinell said. In a town meeting Tuesday night, citizens were informed of the situation but say they still don't know why the entire force is quitting. “We've had like our hometown marshal for many years, so I sure hope we get another marshal in our town,” Pinell said.
