Google Buzz User Privacy Litigation Overview Of The Proposed Settlement In re Google Buzz User Privacy Litigation , Case No. 5:10-cv-00672-JW A class action Settlement has been reached with Google Inc. ("Google") that resolves litigation about privacy concerns arising out of Google’s social networking program, Google Buzz. The Plaintiffs allege that Google automatically enrolled Gmail users in Buzz, and that Buzz publicly exposed data, including users’ most frequent Gmail contacts, without enough user consent. Google denies the accuracy of Plaintiffs’ allegations and denies that it violated any law or caused any harm by the launch of Google Buzz. Under the Settlement, Google will establish an $8.5 million Common Fund to fund organizations focused on Internet privacy policy or privacy education, as well as to cover lawyers’ fees and costs and other expenses. Beebe alderman arrested for campaign sign theft As Reported By The Associated Press BEEBE  — A Beebe alderman has been arrested for allegedly stealing the campaign signs of one of his three opponents. White County authorities say Alderman Leslie Cossey was arrested about 4 a.m. Tuesday. Polls opened at 7:30 a.m. Sheriff’s Cpl. Steve Hernandez told The Daily Citizen in Searcy that Cossey was arrested after candidate Jonathan Gordon’s wife called police to report she saw him with her husband’s campaign signs under his coat. Hernandez said Cossey still had the signs under his coat when he was arrested. Hernandez said Beebe police called the sheriff’s office because Cossey is a current member of the City Council. Cossey did not return a phone call for comment. Cossey, Gordon and James Rainbolt are candidates for the seat now held by Cossey.

The board unanimously voted at a specially called meeting to accept Clint McCance's resignation, Superintendent Dean Stanley said. McCance, then vice president of the school district in Pleasant Plains, wrote on his personal Facebook page that he wanted gay people to commit suicide, according to The Advocate, a newspaper focusing on gay news. McCance used the terms "queer" and "fag"
