CITY LEADERS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT LAUNCHING OF USS LITTLE ROCK THAN DEATHS OF MOTHER AND CHILDREN - TWO MORE REASONS FOR CHANGE
MAYOR MARK "SKIPPER" STODOLA AT LAUNCHING OF USS LITTLE ROCK |
We recently posted about the noticeable absence of city leadership (except for Director Ken Richardson) at the vigil held a week ago for Moriah Cunningham and her two children, A'Laylaih and Elijah Fisher.
You can read that post by clicking here.
So one would expect many of our city leaders to attend the funeral to make up for their absence at the vigil.
Nope. Only Director Ken Richardson was there.
We know where last term mayor Mark Stodola was.
He was strutting in front of TV cameras trying to dodge questions about the crime rate, racial tension and 55 murders that have happened this year in Little Rock.
It's a good thing for Stodola that he has us blocked from commenting on his Facebook page; we would have shamed him to no end.
Where was City Manager Bruce Moore?
Where was the befouled Chief of Police Kenton Tremar Bucker?
Where were the other board of directors?
Who knows. Maybe they were at the Ron Robinson Theater watching the live stream of the USS Little Rock launching.
We do know where the voters will be next November - voting those absent leaders out of office.
After we called them out for their lack of concern to connect with and support citizens, the city increased the standard $10,000 reward the city offers for information that leads to the arrest and conviction in homicide cases to $50,000 on Wednesday.
LRPD's effort is touching, but they spelled A'Laylaih's name incorrectly.

Little Rock city leaders are not helping close the racial divide in the city. Their actions are widening it.
